Free day of acclimatization. possibility to visit Cusco market with its thousand and one colors, served with its local products. Take the opportunity to taste one of our tasty fruit juice or to see one of our “Emolienteros” around the corner, who will prepare you, with delicacy, a natural plants or Kinois extract.
At the end of the journey, your guide will join you in your hostel to do a briefing of your trek.

…TREK OF SALKANTAY…
CUSCO – MARCOCCASA – SORAYAPAMPA. (Departure for the Trek).
Transport from Cusco to Marcoccas (300m). This community is located in a valley surrounded by the mountains of the Vilcabamba Cordillera as the Humantay (5217m) and the Salkantay (6264m). Upon your arrival you could note the size of “Los Apus”.
After a great journey we will arrival in the camp of Soraypampa (3700m).

- Walking time : 7 hours approximately. Climate : cold.
- Difference in altitude : 3000 – 3700 mètres.
SORAYAPAMPA – PASSAGE DU SALKANTAY – CHALLWAY. (Trek).
Early in the morning, departure for a long day and the most difficult. We will cross the highest point of this trail, the Salkantay pass (4600m), then we will go down through tropical woods, the “Yunga”, where you could discover an important variety of fauna and flora.
Camping in Callway (3000m).

- Difference in altitude : 2700 – 4600 – 3000 meters.
CHALLWAY – WINAYPOCO – LA PLAYA. (Trek).
A spectacular descent through the forest where you could see luxuriant vegetation. It will be the occasion to discover several speacies of orchisC’est l’occasion d’identifier quelques espèces d’Orquidées or Bomareas.
We will share few moments with local families of Wiñaypoco (2650m) and La Playa (2100m), location of our camp.

LA PLAYA – LLACTAPATA – HIDROELECTRICA – AGUASCALIENTES. (End of Trek).
Early in the morning, continuation of the walk until the archeological site of Llctapata (2650 meters). Then, after several hours of walk, we will arrive to our strategically point where the Machu Picchu will reveal us it magnitude.
Arrival at the hydroelectric station (1950 meters) place where we will take a train, to Aguacalientes Village based at the bottom of the Machu Picchu. Arrival and installation in your hotel.

MACHU PICCHU VISIT – Back to OLLANTAYTAMBO – CUSCO. (East Express Vistadome Train).
Around 06H30 departure in bus to join the citadel, possibility to go to the Sun Door in order to survey the Machu Picchu with the first sun lights. This third wonder of the world, found in 1911 by Hiram Bingham, American anthropologist, reaching 2400 high meters, will appear just front of you and will let you reflexive.
A site within an extraordinary beauty, in a tropical environment shows the apogee of the Inca Empire. The Machu Picchu will surprise you by its terraces, walls and impressive ramps in a natural setting.
Towards 1 pm return to the village for the lunch.
Back to the railway station in Aguascalientes for your train to Ollantaytambo. Upon your arrival, transfer in a private van to join Cusco. Installation at the hostel.

Suggestion :
Possibility for good walkers to climb the Huayna Picchu (don’t be scared of heights) or join the Sun door.
