DAY 1:

LIMA – INTERNATIONAL FLIGHT. (Jorge Chavez international Airport).

Upon your arrival, you will be welcomed by our representative who will drive you in a private car directly to your hostel in the Miraflores district.

You could taste one of our national cocktails, “Pisco Sour or Algarobina”, and our guide you will do a summary of your trip and will be on your disposal to give an answer to all your questions.

DAY 2:

LIMA – CITY TOUR. (Private Van).

From 9.00 Am, archeological museum visit, exceptional view on the old pre-Columbian and Inca Peru, which means more than 3000 years of history. Then, we will join the Lima historic center, Unesco site from 1991. Before to visit the San Francisco convent, we will discover the San Martin Place, the Weapons Place and its cathedral. These examples of a colonial, Neo Classique, Art Deco and New Art architectures will you be travel through the time.

Towards 1.30 Pm, lunch in a « Cevicheria », the lunch will be dedicated to the sea savors which will surprise you. Just after this lunch, you could pass a paraglide baptism along the Lima coast, another way to see Lima and discover new sensations.

At the end of afternoon, we will visit Barranco, an old fishermen village. This district is today a seaside, very attractive for foreign and local people. It is the romantic, bohemian and night owl area of Lima. Transfer to your hostel.

DAY 3:

LIMA – CUSCO – CITY TOUR. (Plane).

Early in the morning, transfer to the airport for a flight to Cusco. Reception and transfer to the Cusco hostel.

« God’s Gift to Mankind » en Quechua. Cusco has been the “Tawantinsuyu” Inca Empire capital. The legend tells the city was build during the XI or XII century by Manco Capac and Mama Oqllo after birth in the Titicaca Lake.

At the beginning of the afternoon, discovery of Cusco and its sites. On the upper parts of the town, you could find the “Sacsayhuaman” strongholds. A few kilometers further, there are the Qenko, Pukapukara and Tambomachay sites which Incas stone constructions.

At the end of afternoon, return to Cusco in order to discover the picturesque district of “San Blas”. Back to your hostel.

End of the journey : rites, exfoliation ceremonies and massage.

DAY 4:

VISIT of the SACRED VALLEY – AGUASCALIENTES. (Private car and first class Inka Rail train).

Departure at 08H00 in a private car to the Pisac Village, strategic place for Incas to control the valley. Sunday, market day for neighbour communities. It’s more than one thousands colours which allow us to expose local products and the art diversity.

Lunch at the « El Huacatay » restaurant.

We will continue our route to the typical village named Ollantaytambo in honour of “Cacique Ollanta”. According to oral tradition, this “Cacique” was in love of a princess, daughter of the Inca Pachacutec. Visit of the stronghold.

Towards 4pm, we will join the Aguascalientes railway station. Installation at the hostel.

Nothing less than a natural paradise where we can be connected with the sacred mountain energy. Inkaterra is more than a luxury hostel, it is a luxurious village in the white hills with terrace bungalows.

DAY 5:

MACHU PICCHU VISIT – Back to OLLANTAYTAMBO – CUSCO. (East Express Vistadome Train).

Around 06H30 departure in bus to join the citadel, possibility to go to the Sun Door in order to survey the Machu Picchu with the first sun lights. This third wonder of the world, found in 1911 by Hiram Bingham, American anthropologist, reaching 2400 high meters, will appear just front of you and will let you reflexive.

A site within an extraordinary beauty, in a tropical environment shows the apogee of the Inca Empire. The Machu Picchu will surprise you by its terraces, walls and impressive ramps in a natural setting.

Towards 13h00 back to the village and lunch in the « El Indio Feliz » restaurant.

Return to the Aguacalientes railway station at 16h30 to Ollantaytambo.

* Vistadome Train N°509 at 17H30, arrival at 19H28 in Ollantaytambo.

Upon your arrival you will be transported in a private car directly to your hostel.

Suggestion :

Possibility for good walkers to climb the Huayna Picchu (don’t be scared of heights) or join the Sun door.

DAY 6:

CUSCO – PUERTO MALDONADO. (Plane).

In the morning, transfer to the airport of Cusco for your flight to Puerto Maldonado, at Amazonian doors. Before to join our Lodge, we could visit the “Plaza de Armas”. From the watchtower you could discover a wonderful panorama on the union of these two rivers, the Madre de Dios river and the Tambopata river.

Then we will take on board a typical Amazonian boat for a 40-minute crossing. Welcome cocktail and installation in your bungalows. During the afternoon, first meeting with the forest through a walk to discover an important variety of medicinal plants, tropical trees, birds, insects, butterflies and other animals. Short break on a watchtower to observe Toucans, macows and other birds. (walk during 2h30 – 3h).

19h : Before the dinner, late night walk for a “Cayman Safari” in order to find the White Cayman (scientific name) which lives on the river’s banks. Free night in the Lodge.

DAY 7:

PUERTO MALDONADO.

Wake up at 5.30 am for a 20-minute walk to arrive in Collpa de Loros, where more than 5 bird species eat a special clay, essential for their metabolism, a wonderful show of colors.

8.00 am : Breakfast and free time. Towards 10.30 am, we will navigate on the Madre de Dios for an expedition to Monkey Island, where live in total freedom some species of this very interesting animal. From there and after 30 minutes of crossing, we will enter on the Tambopata Candamo National Reserve territory. Walk of 5kms through the luxuriant tropical vegetation to join the Sandoval Lack.

Many animal species live in this environment : birds (as Sanshos, Kingfishers and Anhingas), monkeys (Wasitas, Cotomonos or Capuchin)

We will sail to and fro acrross the lack in a canoe until the sunset which is a unforgettable show. In the end of the journey, return in the Lodge.

DAY 8:

PUERTO MALDONADO – CUSCO. (Plane).

After the breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Cusco. Welcome by your guide and transfer to your hostel. In the morning, possibility to visit Cusco market with its thousand and one colors, served with its local products. Take the opportunity to taste one of our tasty fruit juice or to see one of our “Emolienteros” around the corner, who will prepare you, with delicacy, a natural plants or Kinois extract.

Free afternoon. Possibility to do your last purchases or take a walk in this wonderful city.

DAY 9:

CUSCO – PUNO. (3360mts) – (Andean Explorer Train).

Early in the morning departure from Cusco train station, to Andes’ train, first class Orient Express to Puno.

This day permits appreciate unique landscapes from the Altiplano passing by our highest point “La Raya” with the Altitude of 4320 meter where you will do a break.

Gastronomic lunch on board.

Arrival in Puno. Welcome and transfer to your hostel.

DAY 10:

PUNO – CHUCUITO – KARINA. (Private Van).

Departure around 8:00 am in a privet van, (2:30 hour journey) to go to the Karina peninsula, zone Aymara. We will follow the Lake banks, this unusual landscape and still virgin, will let us thinking. On the way, Chucuito visit and Plateria peninsula too.

At our arrival, welcome and installation in guest houses. They will explain you their daily activities: work of the ground, breeding, production of home-made cheeses.

Lunch in family.

In the afternoon, “Arku Punku” visit on board of artisanal small ships, learning of their king of fishing.

Meals in family, typical evening around a fire camp, dances and music.

Ancestral reading of the future with coca leafs.

DAY 11:

PUERTO KARINA – TAQUILE – HUAYLLANO – UROS – PUNO. (Private Boat).

Breakfast with the family, around 08h00 departure on a motorboat to join the Huayllano community, welcome by the Taquile families. Small walk and visit of the island. The community will teach us its ancestral customs (agriculture, weaving, natural medicine).

Typical lunch. At the beginning of the afternoon, we will go down the 527 steps of the island to join our boat in direction of waterborne Uros islands. Created in the XIII century by the Uros to escape from the Incas. Return to Puno towards 5 pm. Installation in your hostel.

DAY 12:

PUNO – DESAGUADERO – TIWANAKU – LA PAZ. (Private Van).

Early in the morning, in a private van, to Desaguadero. During our route we will visit several villages along the Titicaca. Upon our arrival in Tiwanaku we will visit one of the main archeological sites of this civilization, the Sun City, place where is celebrated the God Kon Tici Viracocha. This civilization has dominated a part of the south between the V and XI century.

We will continue our route to the Bolivian capital, La Paz. Arrival at the end of the journey. Installation in your hostel.

We will change our van at the Bolivian border.

crossing can be difficult on Friday because of the typical market of Desaguadero.

DAY 13:

LA PAZ – ORURO – UYUNI. (Private Van / Train).

Departure through the worderful landscapes of the Altiplano, dominated by the Andean Cordillera. Arrival in Oruro, capital of the Bolivian folklore with is carnival, a Unesco event. You could see several dances as the Diablada representing a fight between Hell and Heaven, created to evangelize.

Lunch in Oruro. Then we will take the train, Expreso del Sur, to Uyuni. Arrival at the end of the journey. Welcome and transfer to your hostel.

Hours for the trains :

• Tuesday and Friday : departure of the train, Expreso del Sur, to Uyuni at 15:30 arrival at 22:20.
• Wendneday and Sunday : departure of the train Wara-Wara tobUyuni at 19:00 arrival at 02:20.

DAY 14:

UYUNI – SALAR DESERT – INCAHUASI – UYUNI. (Véhicule 4X4).

During this day, we will visit the Salar desert, known as the largest salt desert in the world with 10600 Km² and 3650 m of high.

The feeling is unique : the horizon doesn’t have more limits and the vastness invites to silence. Then we will do a stop in the “Pescado Island” or Fish Island, in the middle of Salar.

This island has volcanic origins and covered with stromatolithes and giant cacti. Then we will go on Incahuasi Island, with its giant cacti before to go back to Uyuni.

During the return, stop and visit of salt hostels closed from november 2001. And we will end our journey with the Colchani salt exploitation. Installation at your hostel.

DAY 15:

UYUNI – POTOSI. (4070 mts) (Véhicule 4X4).

Towards 10 Am, in a 4×4 private car. We will cross all the Frailes Cordillera to join the imperial city of Potosi. Free end of the journey.

Our advices : visit of the Santa Teresa, or a walk through colored colonial houses with their hood balconies, which will show you a rich past.

The wonderful cathedral is located in the town center. And you could rest you on the main place.

DAY 16:

POTOSI – MINESVISIT – ½ CITY TOUR – SUCRE (Private van).

DAYnée consacrée à la découverte de la ville, inscrite par l’Unesco au patrimoine de l’humanité.

Day devoted to the city discovery, a Unesco site.

Towards 9 Am, departure for Cerro Rico mines visit where we could meet miners in their daily environment.

Then we will visit an historic monument, the Casa de la Moneda, a real testimony of Spanish atrocities did during the XVI and XVII centuries. The most important part of metal work was made manly by slaves come from Africa, while mines was exploited by local people who had a shorter life than the others. Spanish people struck the crown money until the XIX century.

Lunch in Potosi, and departure at the beginning of afternoon in a private van to join the Sucre city. We will leave the high plateaus to go down in the Chuquisaca valley.

We will cross the Rio Pilcomayo through the Sucre bridge which has an anachronistic architecture (far away to the South, Rio is a natural border between Argentina and Paraguay), before to join Sucre where we will arrive at the end of this journey.

Note :

Casa de la Moneda is closed on Monday and Sunday afternoon.

DAY 17:

SUCRE – CITY VISIT.

During the morning, we will visit the Bolivian White City, constitutional capital. This Unesco site keeps its surprising historic relics in a very nice and peaceful environment. In these visits : Main Place and external views of the Cathedral, the prefectural palace formerly the governmental Palace when Sucre was the administrative city until the XIX century.

Visit of the convent and the “La Recoleta” point of view, Asur textile museum, San Francisco church and others. Lunch included. Free afternoon and evening.

Note :

Casa de la Libertad is closed on Monday and Sunday afternoon.

DAY 18:

SUCRE – LA PAZ (Plane).

Transfer to the airport for your flight to La Paz. Lunch and visit in the Moon valley, named like that for the fairy chimneys aspect and others filiform pitons. Location tour of the highest capital all around the world (3700m). Visit market of wishes and the San Francisco church. Installation in your hostel.

DAY 19:

LA PAZ – INTERNATIONAL FLIGHT. (International airport).

Three hours before your flight, transfer to the Jorge Chavez airport for your international flight.
