Inca Challenge

DAY 1:

VOL INTERNATIONAL – LIMA. (Aéroport international Jorge Chavez).

Dés votre arrivée a Lima, notre représentant vous accueillera et vous conduira en véhicule privé à votre hôtel dans le cartier de Miraflores.

Accompagné d’un de nos cocktails nationaux, « Pisco Sour ou Algarobina », votre guide vous fera une synthèse de votre voyage et sera à votre entière disposition pour répondre à vos questions.

DAY 2:

LIMA – ICA – NAZCA LINES – HUACACHINA OASIS – LIMA. (Private Van / Plane).

Towards 7 am, with your guide, transfer in a private van to the small city of Ica. You will take the famous South Panamerican.

During the route and if the weather is mild, we will a Bodega, specialized in the national alcohol, the Pisco. Possibility to taste it.

Upon your arrival in Ica, you will get on a small plane for a flight through the desert to see the famous lines, strange geometric drawings taller than 300m in their length, and just visible from the sky.

Return around midday to have lunch in the Las Dunas restaurant.

At the beginning of afternoon and after your return to Lima, you will do a short break in the Huacachina oasis, a real postcard in the middle on several dunes.

Departure for a drive through the desert, on a adapted buggy. Guaranteed strong sensations.

Towards 4 pm return to Lima. Arrival around 7.30pm and installation in your hostel.

Note:

The flying over is not guaranteed, it depends on climate conditions and can be cancelled by the control tower.

DAY 3:

LIMA – VISIT OF THE AREQUIPA CITY. (2335m) – (Flight / Private Van).

Departure at 7.15 am in a private van with your guide to the airport for your flight to Arequipa, Peru’s second main city.

You will be welcomed by our guide and you will be taken to your hostel in a private car.

At the beginning of afternoon, guided tour of the largest convent of the world, an Unesco site, the “Santa Catalina monastery”. Built in 1579, its 20462m2 were composed of 450 recluses who didn’t have any contact with the external world until 1970. Commonly known as “White City”, we will traverse the streets of the town of a bright white, (due to the sillar, main construction material) to discover the wonderful Plaza de Armas (Greater Plaza) bordered by its majestic cathedral. At the end of day, return to you hostel.

Flight :

Lima / Arequipa : Lan Péru Flight Nº2129 at 10.15 am, arrival at 11.40 am.

This restaurant offers a culinary fusion, through its Alpandino dishes, which takes roots in the mountains, where the sun fills food of energy and balance.

DAY 4:

AREQUIPA – COLCA CAÑON. (3640mts) (Private Van).

Departure at 07h00 in a private car in direction of the Colca Canyon located in the Peruvian Cordillera of the south which reached 3.270. Its throats are twice deeper than them of the Large Canyon of Colorado, which means it is one of the deepest canyons in the world.

During the way, you will cross the Aguada Blanca reserve where we can see vicunas. Passage of the Patapamapa collar. Installation in your hostel, Las Casitas 5*, a real paradise of relaxation, the perfect escapade to escape the daily stress. During these two days, your preferences will be of the honor.

DAY 5:

COLCA – LEISURE and RELAXATION.

Towards 07H00, departure in private car along the Colca Canyon to join the « Cruz del Condor », this vulture bird which can reach a scale of 3.50m for an adult, using updrafts, it reaches sometimes an altitude of flight of 6000mts.

DAY 6:

COLCA CAÑON – TITICACA LAKE. (Private car).

The morning, departure in a private car to join the Titicaca Lake. It is a transition day. Crossing of the Andean Cordillera, you will discover the Altiplano and its unusual landscapes.

During the route, visit of Sillustani’s Chullpas, circular funerary towels build out of stone and being able reach twelve meter.

You will pass through Puno city to go to your hostel, enchanted place at the end of the world.

Titilaka Hostel,

DAY 7:

TITILAKA – UROS ISLAND – TAQUILE ISLAND – SUASI ISLAND. (Private boat).

Early in the morning, departure from the Puno harbor to join Uros Islands (3Omin by boat). Created in the XIII century by the Uros to escape from the Incas : the inhabitants perpetuate the ancestral traditions.

We will continue our cruise to Taquile island (2H30). Society based on the collective work and according to the “Ama Suwa” Inca code, “you won’t steal, you won’t lie, you won’t be lazy”. With these unique landscapes and its population you will be a wonderful travel in the time. Lunch on the island.

At the beginning of the afternoon, return on boat to Suasi Island (4 hours). Welcome and installation in your hostel. During this end of afternoon, and the next morning, you will have the opportunity to walk on the island, to practice canoe on the lack, see the sunset or spend a moment to observe these one thousand and one stars around a fire camp.

Spa – Massage,

Sauna and Massage : both of them are in the perfect harmony with the rustic style of the island. Your massage will use creams and plants from this area, this well-being sensation will dissociate you from the real world.

DAY 8:

ILE SUASI – TITILAKA. (Private Boat).

Suasi is a little island in the middle of the large Titicaca lack, where live the Casa Andina Eco Lodge administrators. It is a simple experience, a peaceful location, far away and marvelous

It is an ideal place to observe the lack ecosystem with its Altiplano fauna and flora. It is the perfect spot to escape oneself and to rest with this unique and splendid view on the lack and its surroundings.

When you will wish we will go to join the Titilaka hostel. According to the arrival possibility to take benefit of the hostel’s services.

DAY 9:

PUNO – CUSCO – ORIENT EAST TRAIN. (3360mts) – (Andean Explorer Train).

Early in the morning departure from Puno train station, to Andes’ train, first class Orient Express to Cusco.

This day permits appreciate unique landscapes from the Altiplano passing by our highest point “La Raya” with the altitude of 4320 meters where you will do a break.

Gastronomic lunch on board.

Resumed of your trip, the train will begin it progressive way down to the “Naval of the World”.

DAY 10:

CUSCO – CITY TOUR. (Private Van).

“The Navel of the World” in Quechua, was the capital of the Inca´s Empire “Tawantinsuyu”. The legend tells that the city was found in XI or XII century by Manco Capac and Mama Oqllo, both were born at the Titicaca Lake, selected by the god to build this wonderful civilization.

Day dedicated at the discovery of Cusco and it sites. We will begin our visit by the sun temple “Qorikancha”, and the Cathedral, it construction begun in 1560 and finished in 1669. During the afternoon, we will go the 4 Incas ruins: Tambornachay Q’enko – Pukapucara – Sacsayhuaman. Return to Cusco, to discover the picturesque area of “San Blas”. Return to your hotel.

El Map Café Restaurant,

A restaurant which is different thanks to its cooking combining the best from central Andes which will captivate your palates.

Located in an interior court of the Pre-Columbian Art Museum, its modern infrastructure is composed of glass cubes which underline the art of the old Peruvian cultures. A place very sophisticated and with lots of style where you could discover the creativity of one of the best Andean cooking.

DAY 11:

CUSCO – MACHU PICCHU. (Hiram Bingham East Express Train).

Departure at 7.30 am in a private van to Cusco station (Poroy) to join Machu Picchu Pueblo in one of the most beautiful train in the world, the Hiram Bingham.

Lunch on board.

Upon your arrival, welcome by a special attention, by the hostel staff.

At the beginning of afternoon, small walk in this luxuriant vegetation where we will discover an important variety of orchids, “more than 200”, unique in this area, or our famous Hummingbird.

DAY 12:

MACHU PICCHU VISIT – Back to OLLANTAYTAMBO. (Hiram Bingham East Express Train).

Around 06H30 departure in bus to join the citadel, possibility to go to the Sun Door in order to survey the Machu Picchu with the first sun lights. This third wonder of the world, found in 1911 by Hiram Bingham, American anthropologist, reaching 2400 high meters, will appear just front of you and will let you reflexive.

A site within an extraordinary beauty, in a tropical environment shows the apogee of the Inca Empire. The Machu Picchu will surprise you by its terraces, walls and impressive ramps in a natural setting.

Towards 13h00 back to the village and lunch in the « El Indio Feliz » restaurant.

Return to the Aguacalientes railway station at 16h30 to Ollantaytambo.

Upon your arrival, transfer and installation in your hostel.

Suggestion :

Possibility for good walkers to climb the Huayna Picchu (don’t be scared of heights) or join the Sun door.

DAY 13:

A VTT walk in order to be in a perfect harmony with the rare silence.

During the evening, towards 17H00, well-being session during 60 minutes in the Yacu Wasi.

DAY 14:

OLLANTAYTAMBO – MORAY – MARAS – CHINCHERO – CUSCO. (Private van).

Early in the morning, we will follow our road to go to the surprising « Salinas de Maras » salt water sources which have been flowed for centuries and still unexploited by the local population who rent one or several parcels.

From this place, we will discover Moray, Amphitheatre composed by several terraces disposed on concentric circles. In fact, it was an Inca agricultural research centre where was practiced cultural experience. Each terrace creates a microclimate where it’s possible to cultivate more than 250 plant’s varieties.

The Chinchero village based in Cusco campaign was entirely built, like Ollantaytambo, in Inca bases. To “Tupac Yupanqui” could repose himself during his displacement. It’s one of the rare villages who still own today, Incas traces. Its Church or all these terraces are the proof. Return to Cusco. Installation at your hostel.

Vaco is a roomy place with an atmosphere where gastronomy, wines and savors are mixed in the South America sound.

DAY 15:

CUSCO – LIMA – CITY TOUR. (Plane / Private Van).

Towards 6 am for your flight to Lima. Upon your arrival, welcome by a Novalys representative.

Then, we will join the Lima historic center, Unesco site from 1991. Before to visit the San Francisco convent, we will discover the San Martin Place, the Weapons Place and its cathedral. These examples of a colonial, Neo Classique, Art Deco and New Art architectures will you be travel through the time.

Lunch in a Cevicheria.

At the end of afternoon, we will visit Barranco, an old fishermen village. This district is today a seaside, very attractive for foreign and local people. It is the romantic, bohemian and night owl area of Lima. Transfer to your hostel during the afternoon.

Tonigh you will have dinner in the best restaurant of Lima, in the Miralfores district.

Flight :
